An ink-ribbon cassette (10) with an internal ink-ribbon supply has guidance arms (11, 12) for the ink ribbon which emerge from the space within the cassette and between their two free ends hold an ink ribbon section to be guided through a printing region. A support strip (19) made of elastically flexible material and resting in the two guidance arms (11, 12) lies against and behind the section of the ink ribbon and protrudes from at least one guidance arm (12) into the space (13) surrounded by the guidance arms (11, 12).

Eine Farbbandkassette (10) mit einem im Kassettenraum angeordneten Farbbandvorrat hat von dem Kassettenraum ausgehende Führungsarme (11, 12) für das Farbband, die zwischen ihren beiden freien Enden einen durch einen Druckbereich zu führenden Farbbandabschnitt halten. Hinter dem Farbbandabschnitt liegt an diesem ein Stützstreifen (19) aus elastisch biegsamem Material an, der in den beiden Führungsarmen (11, 12) liegt und aus mindestens einem Führungsarm (12) in den von den Führungsarmen (11, 12) umschlossenen Raum (13) hineinragt.
