Abstract (en)

[origin: JPS6434466A] PURPOSE: To enable the long-term use of an applicator brush without returning the brush into a bottle by mounting the rod of the applicator brush 4 in a sheath movably with respect to a cap and providing the rod with an enlargement so as to close the restriction of the sheath by holding the rod when the applicator brush is directed downward. CONSTITUTION: The rod 5 of the applicator brush 4 is mounted within the sheath 9 removably with respect to the cap 7. The sheath 9 is provided with the restriction 11 to allow the passage of the brush 4. The rod 5 is provided with the enlargement 12 in contact with the restriction 11 under the action of gravity so as to close the restriction 11 by holding the rod 5 when the brush 4 is directed downward. Openings 14, 15 which admit liquid into the sheath 9 when the bottled 3 closed by the cap 7 is inverted down are disposed at the sheath 9. Further, a free space 16 is made to exist to form a liquid pool between the inside surface of the sheath 9 and the front surface of the rod 5 so that the rod 5 can be withdrawn into the sheath 9. The fail-proof opening of the restriction 11 is ensured by setting the length L of the sheath 9 longer than the length of the rod 5.
