Abstract (en)

In a method and apparatus for determining the partial density (concentration) of different component substances in a liquid by calculating the absorption of two different gamma radiations (one of higher energy and one of lower energy), the liquid is passed through a pipe system and penetrated by the two gamma radiations, and the attenuation of the intensity is detected. A defined combination of the counting rates of the two radioactive sources is used for determining the partial density of two substances in a three-component system. <??>The main field of application is the continuous contactless monitoring of the acid and metal concentrations in pickling baths for chemical descaling and for the roughening and cleaning of metal surfaces.

Abstract (de)

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Bestimmung der partiellen Dichte (Konzentration) verschiedener Stoffkomponenten in einer Flüssigkeit durch Verrechnung der Absorption von zwei verschiedenen (einer höher- und einer niederenergetischen) Gammastrahlungen. Hierzu wird die Flüssigkeit in einem Rohrsystem geführt, von den zwei Gammastrahlungen durchstrahlt und die Intensitätsabschwächung detektiert. Eine bestimmte Kombination der Zählraten der zwei radioaktiven Quellen wird benutzt, um die partielle Dichte von zwei Stofffen in einem Dreistoffsystem zu bestimmen. Hauptanwendungsgebiet ist die kontinuierliche, berührungsfreie Überwachung der Säure- und Metallkonzentration in Beizbädern für die chemische Entzunderung und für das Aufrauhen und die Reinigung von Metalloberflächen.
