Abstract (en)
The climbing iron for use on climbing boots on climbing trips or other alpine undertakings has a first group of single segments, which have teeth, are interconnected in an articulated manner and form a front part, and a second group of single segments without teeth, which are likewise interconnected in an articulated manner and are connected to the first group of single segments. This second group of single segments serves essentially to connect in an articulated manner the front part to an essentially rigid heel part. By means of this arrangement, an automatic adaptation of the climbing iron to the movement of the boot and to the nature of the terrain is made possible. Additionally, this arrangement guarantees collapsibility of the climbing iron to a very small packing size and protective transport in a rucksack.

Das Steigeisen zur Verwendung an Bergschuhen bei Bergtouren oder anderen alpinistischen Unternehmungen weist eine erste Gruppe (1, 1', 1'') von Einzel-Segmenten, die Zacken aufweisen, gelenkig miteinander verbunden sind und ein Vorderteil (3) bilden und eine zweite Gruppe (20, 20', 20'') von Einzel-Segmenten ohne Zacken, die ebenfalls gelenkig miteinander und mit der ersten Gruppe von Einzel-Segmenten verbunden sind, auf.
