Abstract (en)
The single lever for manually controlling an electric wheelchair is of joystick type, incorporating a universal joint and a spring inside the hollow stem, returning it to the middle position. The base of the stem is shaped to form another universal joint to control the operation of two sliding plates (35) which operate two potentiometers included in the control system. Each plate has a slot (40,41) at the centre, the two slots crossing at right angles and each at an angle of 45 degrees to the sliding direction of the plates. At their intersection point is a flanged bush (43) inside which the lower universal joint element fits.

Steuereinrichtung für elektrische Rollstühle oder dergl., mit einem von Hand zu betätigenden Steuerhebel, der mittels eines Universalgelenks in beliebige Richtungen verschwenkbar gelagert und mittels einer Feder in eine mittlere Ruhestellung vorgespannt ist. Es sind zwei mechanisch-elektrische Stellglieder vorgesehen, deren elektrischer Ausgangswert von ihrer mechanischen Einstellung abhängt. Zwei mechanische Übertragungseinrichtungen übertragen jeweils nur eine von zwei Bewegungen des Steuerhebels in im wesentlichen senkrecht aufeinanderstehenden Richtungen auf die mechanisch-elektrischen Stellglieder. Die mechanischen Übertragungseinrichtungen sind Kulissengetriebe, die sich einfach und billig aus dünnen Platten herstellen lassen. Die Anordnung der mechanisch-elektrischen Stellglieder ist weitgehend beliebig. Insgesamt ergibt sich dadurch eine sehr geringe Bauhöhe.
