[origin: EP0301439A2] A meter panel device for a vehicle includes a light-transmissive base plate (11) having a dial face (120) and marking (110), and a light emitting unit (10). Translucent colored layers (13, 17) differing in color from each other are provided respectively on the front and rear sides of the dial face (120), and translucent colored layers (12, 16) differing in color from each other are provided respectively on the front and rear sides of the marking (110). Changes in colors of the dial face (120) and the marking (110). are thus enabled between daytime when the vehicle interior is relatively lighter than the rear side of the meter device, and night time when the light emitting unit (10) disposed at the rear side of the meter device is lit and the vehicle interior is relatively darker than that of the rear side.
