[origin: EP0301475A1] A folding installation (1) for different types of laundered garments, such as shirts and overalls, comprises a longitudinal folding device (6) which first folds the laundered garment longitudinally on a support surface (4). The transverse folding device (7) comprises a pivoting folding blade (10) which forms part of the support surface (4). The folding blade (7) makes the first transverse fold by pivoting in the lower third and makes the second transverse fold with its folding blade (9) in the upper third. In so doing, it feeds the laundered garment through a slit (5) in the support surface (4) to a gripping device (13) which grips the transversally folded garment and places it on a conveyor belt (19), forming a pile (18). The folding installation (1) also comprises a device for synchronizing the pivoting movement of the longitudinal folding blades (6).
