Refuse compacter, especially for domestic refuse, consisting of a trapdoor flap (23) followed by an access chute towards a compacting unit (1) whose piston (10) is provided with means for moving it cyclically between a low position inside a container and a high position, as well as for exerting a compacting pressure in the low position. The chute forms a slide device (29) containing a movable shovel (36), arranged under the trapdoor flap and emerging on the container via an orifice (33) closed off by a guillotine shutter (41, 47), the piston carrying drive members which, during the cycle which starts in the low position and ends in compacting, ensure the opening of the guillotine shutter and the sweeping of the slide device by the shovel towards its opening during the rise of the piston beyond a certain stroke part, and then the closure of the guillotine shutter and the return of the shovel during the descent beyond this same stroke part. <IMAGE>

Compacteur d'ordures, en particulier d'ordures ménagères, constitué d'une trappe (23) suivie d'une goulotte d'accès vers un bloc de compactage (1) dont le piston (10) est pourvu de moyens pour le déplacer cycliquement entre une position basse à l'intérieur d'un récipient et une position haute ainsi que pour exercer une pression de compactage en position basse. La goulotte constitue un tiroir (29) contenant une pelle mobile (36), disposée sous la trappe et débouchant sur le récipient par un orifice (33) obturé par une guillotine (41, 47), le piston portant des organes d'entraînement qui assurent, au cours du cycle qui débute en position basse et se termine par le compactage, l'ouverture de la guillotine et le balayage du tiroir par la pelle vers son ouverture pendant la montée du piston au-delà d'une certaine portion de course, puis la fermeture de la guillotine et le retour de la pelle pendant la descente en deçà de cette même portion de course.
