[origin: WO8805786A1] Proteins characterized by possessing GM-CSF-type activity which have the structure: A-R<1>-B-R<2>-C, wherein A, B and C are GM-CSF peptide sequences substantially as shown in Table 1 wherein A comprises the sequence Ala-1 through Leu-26, B comprises the sequence Arg-30 through Met-36 and C comprises the sequence Val-40 through Glu-127. R<1> and R<2> each represent an independently selected peptide sequence or a peptide bond linking the aforementioned A, B and C, such that R<1> is a peptide bond or peptide sequence other than Asn-Leu-Ser and/or R<2> is a peptide bond or peptide sequence other than Asn-Glu-Thr.
