[origin: EP0302251A2] A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which is improved in increased light-sensitivity and lowered fog. The photographic material has at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing a silver halide chemically sensitized in the presence of a compound represented by the followinf formula 1. Formula (I) (X)n - Q - (S - Y)m wherein X represents a water-soluble group; Q represents an organic m+n valent group; Y represents a hydrogen atom, an amidino group, or an atom or a group of atoms capable of forming a monovalent cation, and m and n each represent an integer of 1 or 2.
