Abstract (en)
[origin: WO8901057A1] A process, in particular for stripping paint and dirt from objects, offers the advantages of a solvent treatment without the disadvantages of environmental pollution. This is essentially achieved by adding to an azeotropic mixture in a closed treatment container a treatment mixture composed of at least one main fraction of solvent with an excess of water and heating the treatment mixture to boiling. The treatment mixture is then removed from the container. Any residual solvent is azeotropically distilled from the system with water and removed before the container is opened.
