[origin: EP0303198A1] The present invention discloses a cartridge (1) for expelling liquids under high pressure. To this end, the cartridge (1) has as essential constructional element a sabot (4) which is arranged axially between a propellant-charge chamber (2) and a liquid chamber (3). Attached by positive or non-positive connection to the plane end face (7) of the sabot (4) is a closing element (21) which is separated axially from the sabot (4) by means of the pressure of the liquid flowing into the liquid chamber (3) and which is displaced forwards towards the barrel muzzle. Both the sabot (4) and the closing element (21) lie sealingly against the inner walls of the barrel (15) and the cartridge case (13) respectively. When the propellant charge (27) is ignited, the sabot (4) drives a water column, together with the closing element (21), into drill holes of a roadway core of a roadway drivage and thereby causes the rock of the roadway core to be comminuted. <IMAGE>
