Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0303210A2] The protection device consists of a delay arrangement (3), coupled to the electromagnetic drive (2), and an interruption switch (5), controlled by the delay arrangement (3). If the magnetic coil (20) of the electromagnetic drive (2) remains excited for longer than the period predetermined by the delay arrangement (3), the interruption switch (5) is opened by means of a changeover lever (30) and an operating element (31). In this case, the operating element (31) has such operating hysteresis with respect to the changeover lever (30) that the operating element (31) reacts delayed by the predetermined time in both the switch-off as well as the switch-on direction. This hysteresis is achieved by the changeover lever (30) having two switching arms (32, 33) which hold the operating element between them and which are arranged at such a distance from one another that the switching arm (33 or 32) which is located in each case remotely from the operating element must initially cover a no-load path s1 or s2 before the interruption switch (5) is operated. <IMAGE>
