[origin: WO8806801A1] A current-limiting circuit breaker comprises at least one contact pair (1, 2), one of the contacts (3, 5) of which is rigidly connected to an electrodynamic current limiter (9, 10) electrically connected to a controlled pulse current source (17), and at least one emergency condition pick-up (12, 13, 14) kinematically connected to a unit (11) for moving and fixing the contact which is kinematically connected to the other contact (4, 6) of the contact pair (1, 2). The current-limiting circuit breaker is provided, depending on the number of contact pairs (1, 2), with at least one pair of load taps (20, 21, 22, 23) one of which is connected to the other contact (4, 6) of the contact pair (1, 2), whereas the other is connected to the contact (3, 5) rigidly connected to the electrodynamic current limiter (9, 10) provided with a tap (15, 16). The pulse current source (17) is connected to this tap (15, 16) through the emergency condition pick-up (12).
