The invention relates to an apparatus for cutting and stripping wires and for applying crimp, plug and screw terminals (contacts), as well as for manufacturing chain structures. The apparatus contains a cutting and stripping apparatus (2), having a wire transportation device and a wire alignment unit together with a cutting block with controllable cutting blades and stripping blades. A stop unit (3), for stopping contacts, is located in the wire conveying direction opposite the cutting and stripping apparatus (2). According to the invention, a transverse wire conveying unit (4) is provided with which a rear, stripped wire end is conveyed to a second stop unit (5) for stopping a second contact. The arrangement can be particularly advantageously extended by one or more further cutting and stripping apparatuses (28, 31) which are located in each case opposite stop units (5, 30), in each case two wire ends being joined together there via the transverse wire conveying units (4, 29), for a double connection in a contact. In this way, a plurality of wires can be connected with double connections automatically. If no chains are desired, suitable control also allows individual wires to be obtained which are only cut and are not stripped, or are stripped on one or both sides. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Abschneiden und Abisolieren von Kabeln und zum Anschlagen von Crimp-, Steck- und Schraubverbindungen (Kontakten) sowie zur Herstellung von Verkettungsgebilden. Die Vorrichtung enthält eine Schneid- und Abisoliervorrichtung (2) mit einer Kabeltransporteinrichtung und einer Kabelrichteinheit sowie einem Messerblock mit steuerbaren Schneidmessern und Abisoliermessern. Der Schneid- und Abisoliervorrichtung (2) liegt in Kabelförderrichtung eine Anschlageinheit (3) zum Anschlagen von Kontakten gegenüber. Erfindungsgemäß ist eine Querkabelfördereinheit (4) vorgesehen, mit der ein hinteres, abisoliertes Kabelende zu einer zweiten Anschlageinheit (5) zum Anschlagen eines zweiten Kontakts gefördert wird. Besonders vorteilhaft läßt sich die Anordnung durch eine oder mehrere weitere Schneid- und Abisoliervorrichtungen (28, 31) erweitern, die jeweils gegenüber von Anschlageinheiten (5, 30) liegen, wobei dort über die Querkabelfördereinheiten (4, 29) jeweils zwei Kabelenden für eine Zweifachverbindung in einem Kontakt zusammengeführt werden. Damit können automatisch mehrere Kabel mit Zweifachverbindungen verbunden werden. Wenn keine Verkettungen gewünscht werden, können bei entsprechender Steuerung auch nur abgeschnittene Einzelkabel ohne Abisolierung oder mit einseitiger oder beidseitiger Abisolierung erhalten werden.
