On an ignition unit for combustion engines with an ignition coil (10) having a ferro-magnetic core (18) integrated with a spark plug connector (12), arranged about the main core (24) of which is a primary and secondary winding enveloped in an insulating element (26), the ignition coil (10) and the spark plug connector (12) are arranged in relation to one another so that the axial directions of the spark plug connector (12) and the main core (24) of the ignition coil (10) form, at least approximately, a right angle. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Zündeinheit für Verbrennungsmotoren, mit einer mit einem Zündkerzenstecker (12) integrierten Zündspule (10) mit einem ferromagnetischen Kern (18), um dessen Hauptkern (24) eine von einem Isolierkörper (26) umgebene Primär- und Sekundärwicklung angeordnet ist, sind die Zündspule (10) und der Zündkerzenstecker (12) derart zueinander angeordnet, daß die Axialrichtungen des Zündkerzensteckers (12) und des Hauptkerns (24) der Zündspule (10) zumindest annähernd einen rechten Winkel bilden.
