Abstract (en)
[origin: WO8806523A1] A mobile lifting roller (6) used to transfer paint from a painting roller (8) to a friction roller (5) is subdivided into a plurality of sections (6'). Each section (6') is mounted rotationally on a separate two-armed lever (22). All the levers (22) are mounted pivotally on a common axis (28) in such a manner that the sections (6') lie normally on the friction roller (5) and in the activated state on the paint roller (8) in order to receive the paint. Following their return to their initial position, the paint is transferred to the friction roller (5). In order to activate the sections, an electro-magnet (31) is connected to each section. The armature of the electro-magnet is a protuberance (30) of the lever (22). All the electro-magnets (31) are rigidly attached to a stationary support (33). Each electro-magnet is individually excited by a control device, the duration of the excitation being a function of the thickness of the paint to be applied in the region concerned. This paint applicator can be used with existing applicators. To change the colour of the paint, it is only necessary to change the paint box.
