[origin: EP0304620A2] A multipin contact insert with a fitted housing for switch cabinets or the like is designed such that the fitted housing can be inserted in a recess in a wall of a switch cabinet or the like and can be mounted using screws with the aid of flanges which are located on the outside of the switch cabinet wall. In contrast, the contact insert is inserted from the inside of the wall and is mounted on the fitted housing by means of screws. In this case, four assembly columns, provided with internal threads, project inwards from the inwards facing side of the fitted housing, into the edge recess. When the contact insert is inserted, retaining straps projecting from the contact insert rest on these assembly columns. This design of the fitted housing can be used with or without terminal adaptors. In both cases, the connecting lines are fitted in advance and the contact insert is then inserted from the inside, with or without terminal adaptors, and is screwed to the fitted housing.
