Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0304760A2] The invention relates to a locking system consisting of a lock and a plurality of keys, in which the locking of the lock determined by mechanically and/or magnetically controllable tumblers can be varied in such a way that the locking code of the lock initially corresponding to the coding of the first key can be changed to the coding of a subsequent key by the displacement of at least one tumbler member (28) within the lock, and proposes, at the same time doing away with actuation by tool or hand-operated knob, that the displacement of the tumbler member (28) be obtained by means of the particular subsequent key (36), and that the subsequent key (36) be subdivided into a first region (A) assigned solely to the locking code of the tumblers and a second additional region (E) which comes into effect when the first region coincides with the locking code of the tumblers and which displaces the tumbler member (28) into the position covered by the additional region of the next subsequent key. <IMAGE>
