The mattress has a multiplicity of joined-together, encapsulated helical springs (8), one helical spring being arranged in each case in a closed pocket (5) made of fabric, nonwoven material or the like. The closed pockets (5) are arranged joined together as strips (1, 2, 3, 4) in one direction and connected by bonding transversely to the direction of the strips. A connection wall (9) made of elastic material is provided between in each case two adjacent strips parallel to the direction of the strips (1, 2, 3, 4). Eine Taschenfederkernmatratze weist eine Vielzahl zusammenhängender eingekapselter Schraubenfedern (8) auf, wobei jeweils eine Schraubenfeder in einer geschlossenen Tasche (5) aus Gewebe, Vliesstoff o. dgl. angeordnet ist. Die geschlossenen Taschen (5) sind in einer Richtung als Bänder (1, 2, 3, 4) aneinanderhängend angeordnet sowie quer zur Richtung der Bänder durch Klebung verbunden. Parallel zur Richtung der Bänder (1, 2, 3, 4) ist zwischen je zwei benachbarten Bändern eine Verbindungswand (9) aus elastischem Material vorgesehen. Die Taschen (5) der Bänder (1, 2, 3, 4) sind über je eine Verbindungswand (9) mittelbar miteinander verklebt.
