Abstract (en)

There is disclosed on opto-magnetic recording medium which comprises a substrate (1), a first magnetic layer (3) of a Gd-Fe-Co amorphous alloy formed on the substrate and having iron group sublattice magnetization superiority, saturated magnetization of which falls within the range of 25 to 125 emu/cm<3>, and a second magnetic layer (4) of an R-Fe-Co (wherein R is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Tb and Dy) amorphous alloy having a higher coercive force than that of the first magnetic layer (3), a lower Curie point than that, and rare earth group sublattice magnetization superiority, saturated magnetization of which falls within the range of 25 to 175 emu/cm<3>, and in which second magnetic layer (4) is exchange-coupled with the first magnetic layer.
