[origin: EP0305657A2] The intention is to develop a method for producing cuts from an elastic paper, preferably a crêpe paper, by means of which it is possible for cuts to be made from two superposed paper webs (14) in common rotary slitting rollers (17) in a cost-effective manner and avoiding web-tensioning problems. <??>For this purpose, it is envisaged firstly to take all the paper webs (14) off a common parent roll (12), to form the individual paper webs by longitudinal cutting of the parent-roll web (12), and then to bring the said webs together and to cut them in an alternate manner from the two sides of the superposed paper webs (14) in the rotary slitting rollers (17). <??>As a result of the alternate cutting in the rotary slitting rollers (17), web-tensioning problems are avoided in the individual paper webs (14). The use of a parent roll (12) is, in terms of manufacture, advantageous compared with the use of corresponding single rolls. <??>The rotary slitting rollers (17) of a corresponding device are composed of two rollers which are both designed as cutting and counter-rollers and are employed alternately. <IMAGE>
