Abstract (en)

To produce alkali metal nitrates, alkali metal chloride solution is fed to the anode space (2) of an electrolysis cell (3), the anode space (2) being separated from the cathode space (5) by a permselective cation exchanger membrane (6). Simultaneously fed to the cathode space (5) is a nitric acid/alkali metal nitrate solution whose alkali metal nitrate concentration is not less than 10% by weight and whose HNO3 concentration is between 0.1 and 10% by weight. A solution whose pH does not exceed 5 is removed from the cathode space (5). <IMAGE>

Abstract (de)

Zur Herstellung von Alkalimetallnitraten wird dem Anodenraum (2) einer Elektrolysezelle (3), der vom Kathodenraum (5) durch eine permselektive Kationenaustauschermembran (6) getrennt ist, Alkalichloridlösung zugeführt. In den Kathodenraum (5) wird gleichzeitig eine Salpetersäure-Alkalinitratlösung zugeführt, deren Alkalinitratkonzentration mindestens 10 Gew.% und deren HNO3-Konzentration zwischen 0,1 und 10 Gew.% beträgt. Aus dem Kathodenraum (5) wird eine Lösung abgezogen, deren pH-Wert 5 nicht übersteigt.
