[origin: EP0306460A1] Tights are transferred from a sewing machine to a press by gripping their elasticated hem, pulling it off a pair of tubes of the sewing machine, turning it inside out while drawing the legs of the tights from within the tubes, stretching the hem into a vertical rectangle, turning it to the horizontal with the legs hanging beneath it, turning it to the vertical so that the seams of the legs are suspended in the vertical median plane of a pair of formers of the press, releasing the hem, and lifting it around the formers to thread the legs onto them. A machine for carrying out the process is also claimed.
