[origin: EP0306678A2] The single hole paper punch consists essentially of a lower part (15), provided with an insertion slot (10) and a waste chamber (12) and equipped with a hole punch (14), and of a pressure lever (22), which is mounted on the lower part (15) so as to be pivotable about a horizontal pin (16) and acts on the hole punch (14) which is under the action of a restoring spring (20). The lower part (15) is composed of two half-shells (15', 15'') constructed substantially mirror- symmetrically relative to one another and joined together by means of screwing or adhesive bonding. The half-shells delimit the waste chamber (12) on their inside. In addition, the half-shells (15', 15'') exhibit semi-cylindrical recesses which complement one another to form an upwardly open cylinder housing (30) for the restoring spring (20) and the hole punch (14). The hole-punch guide (34) and the die (28) are arranged on a metal insert part (36) which, when joining the half-shells (15', 15'') together, is inserted into corresponding slotted recesses (10', 10''). A guide channel (38) for receiving a flexible measuring strip (40) is arranged in the lower and rear region of the lower part. <IMAGE>
