[origin: EP0306687A2] The incandescent lamp holder of the motor vehicle headlamp is embodied in the form of a sleeve and has in its base a central opening for the incandescent lamp. The incandescent lamp is located with its cap flange on the base region surrounding the opening. The web, connecting the limbs, of the U-shaped retaining spring is mounted rotatably about its longitudinal axis between at least one bearing surface open in the direction of insertion of the incandescent lamp and at least one nose of the incandescent lamp holder pointing towards the incandescent lamp cap. In this arrangement, the web, connecting the limbs, of the retaining spring has at least one bulge directed opposite to the limbs of the retaining spring, which is configured in size and shape such that it grips the nose from below when swivelling into its securing position. The free end sections of the retaining spring grip undercuts of the incandescent lamp holder from behind. <IMAGE>
