[origin: EP0307336A1] The filing unit according to the invention consists of a bent plate defining edges (2) and surfaces (3) comprising a backrest (3A), a seat (3B) forming an edge (2A) with the backrest (3A), a support surface (3C) and a face (3D) which connects the seat (3B) to the support surface (3C), forming with these latter an edge (2B) and an edge (2C) respectively. The filing unit is essentially characterised in that the connecting face is bent in the same direction as the backrest (3A) with respect to the seat (3B) so as to form with said backrest and said seat a U having unequal arms, in that the support surface (3C) is bent in the opposite direction to the seat (3B) with respect to the connecting face (3D), in that the edge (2B) is intended to rest on a surface (4) or on another filing unit and in that the crosswise- running extremity of the support surface (3C) is designed to rest on said surface in such a way that the backrest (3A) is angled over the seat (3B). <IMAGE>
