Abstract (en)

[origin: JPS6483823A] PURPOSE: To improve the property of sound-insulation and heat resistance of a sound insulating material casing for internal combustion engine provided with a sealing ring made of a rubber-elastic material between an inner flanged ring of a side of the engine and an outer flanged ring of a side of the casing by providing a protective shielding body and a heat resistant insulating material at a side of the inside flange ring. CONSTITUTION: An internal combustion engine has a sound insulating casing 2 which forms a penetrating opening 4 to pull an exhaust gas duct 3 out and is provided a penetrating opening sealing device 6 to seal the penetrating opening 4. In the sealing device 6, an inner flanged ring 7, which is attached to a cylinder head 1a, and an outer flanged ring 8, which is attached to a casing 2 with sealing are provided. A sealing ring 9 made of an elastomer is vulcanized and stucked between the both flanged rings 7, 8 and a protective shielding body 10, which shields the sealing ring 9 to the exhaust gas dust 3, is attached with compressing. A heat-resisting filling shield material 11 which absorbs sound at a middle space among the shielding body 10, the sealing ring 9 and the flanged ring 8.
