[origin: EP0247521A1] Electrophoretic enamelling baths as described, which contain modified epoxy amine additives as cathodically separable binders and which are produced (1) by causing (A) polyepoxides and (B) compounds containing one or several, preferably 2, hydroxyl groups per molecule bound to aromatic and/or (cyclo)aliphatic molecule fragments, to react in the presence of amine basic catalysts, to form epoxy-group containing intermediates and (2) by then causing these intermediates to react as applicable with other customary modification compounds and finally with (C) primary and/or secondary (poly)amines, whereby the reaction products thus obtained are neutralized with acids, are dispersed in an aqueous medium and this dispersion is reprocessed using well-known methods to produce electrophoretic enamelling baths. The electrophoretic enamelling baths of the invention are characterized in that the reaction products formed from (A), (B) and (C) are dispersed in an aqueous medium and then at least one anion exchanger reactive to chloride ions is added to the dispersion thus obtained, such exchanger being separated after completion of the exchange reaction.

Les bains décrits contiennent comme liants séparables cathodiquement des additifs d'amine d'époxy modifiés et sont produits (1) par la mise en réaction (A) de polyépoxydes et (B) de composés contenant ou un plusieurs, de préférence deux groupes hydroxyle par molécule liés à des fragments moléculaires aromatiques et/ou cycloaliphatiques, en présence de catalyseurs basiques d'amine, pour former des intermédiaires renfermant des groupes époxy et (2) par la mise en réaction ensuite de ces intermédiaires le cas échéant avec d'autres agents de modification usuels et enfin avec (C) des (poly)amines primaires et/ou secondaires; les produits de réaction ainsi obtenus sont neutralisés avec des acides, dispersés dans un milieu aqueux et cette dispersion est retraitée à l'aide de méthodes bien connues afin de produire des bains de vernis au trempé par électrophorèse. Ces bains sont caractérisés en ce que les produits de réaction formés à partir de (A), (B) et (C) sont dispersés dans un milieu aqueux et ensuite, au moins un échangeur d'anions réactifs envers les ions chlorure est ajouté à la dispersion ainsi obtenue, ledit échangeur étant séparé après achèvement de la réaction d'échange.
