The worktop unit has a worktop (1), designed as a laminated board, a widening board (3), attached to a longitudinal edge (2) of the worktop (1), a wall terminating strip or panel board and a connection profile (4). Each laminated board consists of a core board and at least one covering board, preferably an HPL board. The widening board (3) or the like has on the underside (5) a groove (7) extending parallel to the front longitudinal edge (6) with a certain spacing from said longitudinal edge (6). The connection profile (4) is, on the one hand, fixedly connected to the worktop (1) and, on the other hand, has a strip (8), which engages in the groove (7) in a clamping manner, for connection to the widening board (3) or the like. Eine Arbeitsplatteneinheit mit einer als Verbundplatte ausgeführten Arbeitsplatte (1), einer an einem Längsrand (2) der Arbeitsplatte (1) angesetzten Verbreiterungsplatte (3), Wandabschlußleiste oder Paneelplatte und einem Verbindungsprofil (4), bei der jede Verbundplatte aus einer Kernplatte und mindestens einer Deckplatte, vorzugsweise einer HPL-Platte besteht, bei der die Verbreiterungsplatte (3) od. dgl. auf der Unterseite (5) in einem bestimmten Abstand von dem vorderen Längsrand (6) eine parallel zu diesem Längsrand (6) verlaufende Nut (7) aufweist und bei der das Verbindungsprofil (4) einerseits mit der Arbeitsplatte (1) fest verbunden ist und andererseits zur Verbindung mit der Verbreiterungsplatte (3) od. dgl. eine in die Nut (7) klemmend eingreifende Leiste (8) aufweist, wird verbindungstechnisch und dabei insbesondere hinsichtlich der Feuchtigkeitsabdichtung im Verbindungsbereich optimiert, indem das Verbindungsprofil (4) im Querschnitt etwa Z-förmig mit der Leiste (8), einem von der Leiste (8) im wesentlichen senkrecht abragenden Quersteg (12) und einem vom Quersteg (12) entgegengesetzt zur Leiste (8) im wesentlichen senkrecht abragenden Befestigungsflansch (13) ausgeführt ist und über den Befestigungsflansch (13) an der dem Längsrand (2) benachbarten Rückseite (14) der Arbeitsplatte (1) befestigt ist und indem die Verbreiterungsplatte (3) od. dgl. mit der Unterseite (5) direkt auf der Oberseite der Arbeitsplatte (1) aufliegt.
