Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0307698A1] In sparsely populated areas, it is sufficient to provide the sewage conduits at any point with an inspection or cleaning chamber in order to be able to clean the pipes. As soon as the development area becomes more densely populated, backflow occurs in the pipe network if the pipes are not adequately dimensioned. To prevent damage due to backflow, backflow seals are installed, for which purpose the pipe laid in the cellar floor has to be chiselled out and replaced by a backflow sealing unit. It is necessary to put in place different backflow devices depending on whether excrement-free or excrement-containing sewage flows through the pipes. To be able to introduce, according to the sewage system, the correct cleaning pipe with the required backflow seal inexpensively for the building owner, a cleaning pipe is proposed in which optionally two sets can be introduced for the inspection chamber (3) of the basic body (2), each one of which consists of a sealing cover (11) and at least one backflow sealing flap (12, 13) which is at least functionally connected to the sealing cover (11), the basic body (2) forming with the first set (A) a backflow device (1A) for excrement-free sewage, i.e. the backflow sealing flap (12, 13) in the normal operating state is suspended freely oscillating in front of the passage opening, and forming with the second set a backflow device for excrement-containing sewage, i.e. the backflow sealing flap in the normal operating state is held so as to keep the passage opening clear.
