Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH0197246A] PURPOSE: To provide a yarn feeder capable of feeding a yarn at a fixed adjustable yarn tension in a yarn feeder for changing a feed amount of yarn required by a weaving machine in a wide range with time. CONSTITUTION: One measurement converter 19 is combined with a yarn tension element 19. A signal showing a specific position and/or action of the yarn tension element is sent to an electric circuit containing a driving motor 18 for detecting the position and as a function of the adjustment action of the yarn tension element 16 generated in an operation zone. By the circuit, the yarn tension element is moved in the increasing direction of a yarn reserve zone. When the yarn tension element reaches a limit position of its working range, the driving motor 18 is stopped. A further moving zone of the yarn tension element is separately installed in an operation zone continuing from the limit position. When the motor is stopped and the tension of yarn is reduced, the yarn tension element can be moved by a bias force connected to the moving zone into the interior of the moving zone.
