[origin: EP0309361A1] Device for avoiding thermal stratification in a feed duct. <??>Cold water introduced at a low rate into a supply system filled with hot water circulates in the bottom of the system and accumulates at its end. It is discharged only at the end of the distributor where it has a higher head pressure. The non-miscible hot water remains separate and high thermal stresses appear over the distributor at the interface between the two layers. In the invention, the distribution pipes (2) or the supply system itself (1) have slots (6 and 9) cut into them which encourages the flow, particularly upstream. <??>Application to nuclear power station steam generators. <IMAGE>
