[origin: DE3712543C1] In a process and devices for the manufacture of pipes with longitudinal seams made from strip material wound on a coil, the strip material is wound off the coil and conformed into a pipe billet round of approximately INFINITY -shaped cross-section, with the edges of the strip adjacent or overlapping and at least one edge touching the wall of the tube. The edges of the strip are then joined together and the pipe billet round of INFINITY -shaped cross-section is opened out to the desired cross-section in a sizing train.

Procédé et dispositifs pour fabriquer des tubes à soudure longitudinale, à partir d'un matériau en bande, lequel est enroulé sur une bobine. Le matériau en bande est déroulé de la bobine et conformé en une billette de tube à section approximativement en forme de huit couché, les bords de la bande étant adjacents ou se chevauchant et au moins un bord touchant la paroi du tube. Les bords de la bande sont ensuite assemblés et la billette de section en forme de huit couché est mandrinée à la section désirée dans un train de calibrage.
