[origin: WO8807546A1] This invention relates to a synthetic polypeptide (preferably produced by recombinant DNA techniques) comprising an amino acid sequence incorporating (a) a portion of the P.vivax circumsporozoite (CS) protein including the region of the repeat immunodominant epitope of said protein and (b) another portion of such protein which is conserved among the different malarial species; and to a method for purifying such a polypeptide.
