In a weaving process for manufacturing terry fabric, starting from a binding-warp system with binding warp yarns (5) under relatively high yarn tension and kept tautened and from a pile-warp system with pile warp yarns (500) under low yarn tension and kept loosely flexible, the weft-yarn pick is carried out according to the so-called wave-shed weaving process for a plurality of weft yarns simultaneously into continuously formed sheds (8) travelling over the fabric width. In specific sheds succeeding one another in the weft-yarn pick direction, the picked weft yarn (100) is moved only in the vicinity of the fabric edge, whilst in at least one adjacent shed the weft-yarn feed takes place with the formation of loops in the pile warp yarns up to the fabric edge. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Bei einem Webverfahren zum Herstellen von Frottiergewebe wird, ausgehend von einem Bindekettfadensystem mit unter verhältnismäßig hoher Fadenspannung stehenden, straff gespannt gehaltenen Bindekettfäden (5) und einem Polkettfadensystem mit unter geringer Fadenspannung stehenden, locker nachgebend gehaltenen Polkettfäden (500), der Schußfadeneintrag nach dem sogenannten Wellenfach-Webverfahren für mehrere Schußfäden gleichzeitig in über die Gewebebreite wandernde, kontinuierlich gebildete Webfächer (8) vorgenommen. In bestimmten, in Schußfadeneintragsrichtung aufeinanderfolgenden Webfächern wird der eingetragene Schußfaden (100) nur in die Nähe des Geweberandes bewegt, während in wenigstens einem daran anschließenden Webfach der Schußfadenanschlag unter Ausbildung von Schlingen in den Polkettfäden bis an den Geweberand erfolgt.
