A process for forming, hinge joint creasing and pressing books and a hinge joint creasing and pressing machine which can be used for carrying out this process. For the purpose of increasing the capacity and for gentle treatment of the book blocks freshly cased in covers, the product stream which consists of the books or book blocks and is fed continuously to the machine is divided into a number, n, of parallel partial streams within the loading station and the n partial streams are fed continuously to a corresponding number, n, of forming, hinge joint creasing and pressing stations, arranged in parallel, and, when they have passed through, to the unloading station. <IMAGE>

Verfahren zum Formen, Falzeinbrennen und Ganzpressen von Büchern sowie Falzeinbrenn- und Preßmaschine, die zur Durchführung dieses Verfahrens verwendet werden kann. Zum Zwecke der Kapazitätserhöhung und zur Schonung der in Decken (6a) frisch eingehängten Buchblöcke (6b) wird der aus den Büchern (6) bzw. Buchblöcken (6b) bestehende, der Maschine kontinuierlich zugeführte Produktstrom (20) innerhalb der Ladestation (30) in eine Anzahl n von parallelen Teilströmen (201...20n) aufgeteilt, und die n Teilströme werden kontinuierlich einer entsprechenden Anzahl n von parallel angeordneten Form-, Falzeinbrenn- und Preßstationen (131...13n) und nach deren Durchlaufen der Entladestation (40) zugeführt.
