[origin: JPH01106808A] PURPOSE: To prepare the subject cosmetic having improved compactness of the base powder by using a container formed of a holding plate to hold the produced tamped cosmetic and tamping cosmetic powder in the container at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A holding plate 4 having a hole 9 on the bottom 6 is placed on an opposite plate 3 interposing a thin film 11, and a sleeve 5 is fitted on the holding plate 4 in axial direction in such a manner as to bring the free upper edge of the holding plate 4 into contact with a notch 10. A cosmetic powder 2 is put on the holding plate 4 to a level higher than the upper edge of the plate 4 and pressed with a piston 13 heated with a heater at 40-300 deg.C under a pressure of 40-400 bar. The piston 13 is pulled out, the sleeve 5 is removed and the unit composed of the holding plate 4, the tamped material 8 and the thin film 11 is put into a case 15. The thin film 11 is peeled off before use by pulling a tongue 12 and the tamped cosmetic 8 is used through the hole 9 of the holding plate 4.
