Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0310767A1] A weft yarn feed device (2) contains yarn guides (4) for offering at least one weft yarn (S1) into the take-up region of a gripper (6) movable into and out of a shed (8). On the picking side, outside the fabric edge (20), a scissor mechanism (22) open towards the weaving reed (14) is provided in the region of the stop edge (16). The scissor mechanism serves for cutting off a previously picked weft yarn (S1, S2, S3, S4) during a new pick in the shed (8). To improve operating reliability and to achieve a simpler construction of the gripper loom, the scissor mechanism (22) is so designed and arranged that, during the stroke movement of the weaving reed, on the one hand it is closed and on the other hand a picked weft yarn (S1) can be introduced above and beyond the upper scissor blade (24) into a catch hook (33) located at the front. <IMAGE>
