[origin: WO8707954A1] A device and method for enhancing the speed and sensitivity of biochemical and immunological reactions performed in manifold vacuum devices. Reactions are carried out in one or numerous wells (25) which are integral parts of a manifold plate (10). The internal space of each well (25) is confluent with a waste fluid collection chamber, usually located beneath the manifold, and connected to a vacuum pump (12). A piston-driven (16) or bellows (40) device repetitively interrupts a low-level vacuum applied during the reaction steps, generating a low and continuously oscillating vacuum across the base of the manifold during the reaction procedure. In turn, this causes the reactants to be continuously mixed as the vacuum repetitively draws and releases the fluid components in the wells (25).

Dispositif et procédé permettant d'accroître la vitesse et la sensibilité de réactions biochimiques et immunologiques effectuées dans des appareils collecteurs sous-vide. Les réactions sont effectuées dans un ou dans de nombreux puits (25) faisant partie intégrante d'une plaque collectrice (10). L'espace interne de chaque puits (25) débouche dans une chambre collectrice de fluide usé, située généralement au-dessous du collecteur, et reliée à une pompe à vide (12). Un appareil à piston (16) ou soufflets (40) interrompt de manière répétée un faible vide appliqué pendant les étapes de la réaction, ce qui produit un faible vide oscillant continuellement à travers la base du collecteur pendant la réaction. L'oscillation provoque à son tour le mélange en continu des réactifs, à mesure que le vide aspire et libère de manière répétitive les composants fluides dans les puits (25).
