[origin: EP0312036A1] The bobbin comprises two discs 5 and 6 which are each clamped in between a front end of the bobbin shank 1 and the head 26 of a screw 7 or 8 which is screwed into the respective shank end. The screw head 26 is sunk in a recess 13 on the outside of the disc 5 or 6. It has a base surface 14 which runs essentially perpendicular to the bobbin axis 18 and, accordingly, an axial thickness which is essentially uniform over its radial width. Moreover, the screw head extends radially to approximately the centre between the circumferential surface 21 of the shank 1 and the outer periphery 10 of the disc 5 or 6. Thus, the discs 5 and 6, which preferably consist of plastic, are supported in a stable manner, so that, even under high axial pressure as a consequence of the tensile stressing resulting from the tightly wound yarn, they are subjected essentially to no destructive deformations. <IMAGE>
