Labels are described which are made from paper, aluminium, plastic film or combinations thereof, which are removable mechanically and by machine from glass and/or plastic bottles or other commercial articles of all types, such as bottle crates or the like. For this purpose, the labels are provided with at least one substance which can be activated to adhere to the article. A distinction is made between a first substance, which makes the mechanical removal possible, and a second substance which is applied to the back thereof and possesses adhesion-promoting properties. The first substance is a release layer which is proof against water of condensation and has a particular solids content and a processing viscosity which is selected in a defined manner. The second substance, which imparts adhesive properties, is applied in the form of a gluing pattern, with a glue pallet offset backward along the edges of the label, in such a manner that removal forces are obtained for the label of between 2 and 8 Newtons. <IMAGE>

Es werden Etiketten aus Papier, Aluminium, Kunststoffolie oder Zusammensetzungen hiervon beschrieben, die mechanisch-maschinell von Glas- und/oder Kunststoffflaschen bzw. anderen handelsfähigen Gegenständen aller Art, wie Flaschenkästen oder dergleichen mehr ablösbar sind. Hierfür sind die Etiketten mit wenigstens einer zur Haftung am Gegenstand aktivierbaren Substanz beaufschlagt. Es wird zwischen einem die mechanische Ablösung ermöglichenden ersten Stoff und einem auf seiner Rückseite aufgebrachten zweiten Haftvermittlereigenschaften aufweisenden Stoff unterschieden. Der erste Stoff ist eine schwitzwasserfeste Trennschicht mit einem bestimmten Festkörperanteil und einer definiert gewählten Verarbeitungsviskosität. Der Klebeigenschaften vermittelnde zweite Stoff ist in Form eines Beleimungsmusters mit entlang der Randkanten des Etiketts zurückgesetzter Leimpalette so aufgebracht, daß sich Ablösungskräfte ergeben, die für das Etikett zwischen 2 und 8 Newton liegen.
