Abstract (en)
A safety device for a laundry drier adapted to interrupt the electric power supply of the machine in response to rupture or excessive elongation of the transmission belt (14) connected between the electric motor (10) and the drum (9) of the machine to thereby eliminate the danger of damage to the laundry contained in the drum. The safety device comprises control means (23, 27, 28; 55, 56, 59) associated to the tensioning roller (16) acting on the transmission belt (14), and adapted to maintain or interrupt the electric power supply to the machine depending on the rotational speed of the tensioning roller (16).
