[origin: EP0312654A1] The security lock (1) for a window or door has a working (3) and a dead (4) lock, with controls moving them in and out of engagement with a catch (5) in the frame (2), also a stop (9,11, 12,13) securing the working lock in the engaged position. The control for the working lock comprises a lever (6) movable about a fixed point (7) in a plane parallel to that in which its bolt (3) works, moving the latter into the free position in opposition to a first spring (8). The lock-securing mechanism has a locking arm (9) pivoting on a second fixed point (10), being thrust by a second spring (11) into the engaged position. It also has an auxiliary working bolt (12) which, when the main working bolt (3) is engaged, allows the locking arm to be kept in the engaged position. A transmission arm (15) on a fourth fixed pivot point works with the locking arm (9) and lever (6) via a transmission (17,18).
