Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0312685A2] In a diesel fuel feed pump to be arranged in a fuel tank a connector sleeve (13) is designed as a fluid chamber (15), which is open only at the top where it has a fuel inlet (16). This is fed via a hole (17) from inside the fuel feed pump. Due to this design the fluid chamber (15) is flooded with fuel even when the fuel tank has been run dry so that no ignitable mixture can occur in the chamber. <IMAGE>
