[origin: EP0312774A2] The invention relates to a sliver coiler on a flat-type carding machine, drawing frame, roller- and clearer-type carding machine or the like having an electric-motor drive, which drives sliver draw-in rollers arranged in the region of a sliver-inlet orifice, and sliver feed rollers connected in front of said inlet orifice, and has non-driven sliver guide rolls between the draw-in rollers and feed rollers, the drive speeds of the draw-in rollers and of the feed rollers being in an adjustable ratio to one another. For problem-free sliver transport, it is proposed that the draw-in rollers (8) be driven by an electric motor (31) and that the speed of the feed rollers (4) be detected by a sensor (14) of an electric control device (frequency converter 60) which controls or regulates the speed of the electric motor (31) in an adjustable manner. <IMAGE>
