Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0312871A2] An adaptor, provided with a housing (1), is designed for the connection of gas discharge lamps to busbars of essentially U-shaped cross-section, in whose interior there are arranged voltage-carrying conductors. The housing (1) has a first section (2) which projects into the interior of the rail when inserted correctly and which has adjustable locking members (4) for fixing the adaptor on the busbar and, furthermore, adjustable electrically conductive contact tabs (5) for the electrical connection of the gas discharge lamps. In addition, a second section (3), located outside the busbar, is provided with a control lever (6) for operating these locking members (4) and/or the contact tabs (5). The light fixture having the gas discharge lamp is connected directly or indirectly to this second section (3). An electronic ballast unit and/or an electronic transformer is provided inside the housing (1). The switching members (11, 12, 13, 14), such as coils, capacitors, resistors, transistors and the like, forming the ballast unit and the transformer are arranged on at least one printed-circuit board in the housing (1). <IMAGE>
