[origin: US4839223A] The invention relates to a sealing element for sealing openings in special walls subject to fire-protection requirements, brick wall breaches or the like, wherein for cost-effective manufacturability and processibility and simultaneously fire-protection assurance the sealing element is made of a precompressed strip, preferably impregnated with a chloroparaffin and neoprene base, with delayed restoration, the strip being interspersed with a heat-expanding intumescent compound in an essentially uniform distribution.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Dichtungselement (1) für eine Abdichtung bei besonderen, Brandschutzanforderungen unterliegenden Wänden, Mauerdurchbrüchen oder dergleichen, wobei für eine kostengünstige Herstell- und Verarbeitbarkeit und gleichzeitig höhere Brandschutzsicherheit vorgeschlagen ist, daß das Dichtungselement aus einem vorzugsweise auf einer Basis Chlorparaffin/Neopren imprägnierten, vorverdichteten Schaumstoffstreifen (2) mit verzögerter Rückstellung besteht, der mit Wärme expandierender Intumeszenzmasse, in im wesentelichen gleichförmiger Verteilung, durchsetzt ist.
