[origin: EP0313508A2] The laminate has two support surfaces which are opposite one another and spaced apart by an amount which is predetermined by the laminate thickness. The laminate consists of at least two layers of superposed fibres, between which are enclosed air spaces which are in communication with one another. At least some of the fibres are covered by a coating on at least some of their surface. The coating takes the form of a reflective layer which at least partially reflects radiation. The fibres are overlaid with the reflective layer on that part of the surface which faces at least one of the two support surfaces. In the practice of the method for making the laminate, it is subjected to metal vapour deposition on at least one support surface, the metal being deposited on the fibres which face the support surface. The metal vapour is applied to a surface of the fibres which has been pretreated with an adhesion promoter.
