Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0313510A2] The device for mounting flexographic printing plates with the aid of double-sided adhesive tape onto a printing cylinder with a gear wheel which is mounted in a seating 4 features a drive 6 for the seating 4 which is capable of being moved over a mounting suface 7 of a mounting table 10 carrying the printing side of the printing plate 9, the gear wheel 2 of the printing cylinder 1 engaging with a toothed rack on the mounting table. In the mounting surface 7 there are mounting grooves 15, 16, 17 running parallel and vertically to the axis of the printing cylinder 1 for the reception of mounting bars 11, l2 provided with register pins 14 corresponding to recessed holes in the printing plate. The mounting surface 7 is provided with a multiplicity of first vacuum openings 18 connectable to a vacuum source, the holes being capable of isolation from the vacuum source in rows parallel to the axis of the printing cylinder and dependent on its movement over the mounting surface. In this way, it is possible to fasten the printing plates to the printing cylinder precisely and securely and, in particular, to arrange the printing plates for the individual colours for producing a coloured image so exactly that a correspondingly exact printing is achieved, i.e. the arrangement is reproducible. <IMAGE>
